Ljubljana, Slovenia: Hotel Cubo Review

Ljubljana review: Cubo Hotel Room

On our way to a skiing trip to Austria, our little family of 4 stopped over for one day and one night in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. We stayed at the Hotel Cubo which we highly recommend. Here’s why…

And not just because our 9 year old son is very much into Minecraft and everything … cubic! 🤣

Perfect location in the heart of the historical center of Ljubljana

The view!

This is pic I took myself from one of the windows in the room. From dusk til dawn you can enjoy the view over the Castle of Ljubljana. The city’s main landmark.

It’s only 5 minutes from the river and it’s noticeable bridges

The free smartphone service!

The lady at the reception was very helpful and the hotel even provides you with a smartphone that includes maps and a tourist guide about the city! The smartphone also allowed you to call anywhere in Europe for free!

The boys were ecstatic to have their own smartphones for once!

The Room

We booked the Junior Suite for four and got Room 305 on the third floor, with a massive corner featuring a beautiful round bed!

The room was filled with light and although it was close right in the city center, it was not too noisy and we spent a great night there.

The suite was very spacious with a convertible sofa to fit the two kids. It had lots of cupboard and plenty of room to unfold our two massive suitcases.

TV: lots of channels including Italian, German, French and international ones as well as children’s programs like Disney, Nickel Odeon, Cartoon Networks in English.

Bathroom

The bathroom is very modern had both a bathtub and an Italian shower, toilet by the window that provides light and fresh air 😉

Dining

In room dining

Loved the menu, so yummy and so affordable! It’s an addition €5 for in room service and the portions were great so 3 dishes for 2 adults and 2 kids was perfect. And did I say it was ready and up in our room in less than 30 minutes?

Picture below:

  • rib-eye steak with truffle butter €18 only!
  • chicken caesar salad around €10-12
  • seafood risotto around €12-€14

Breakfast

On the first floor is the restaurant and breakfast area, similarly spacious and filled with light. Breakfast was included in the price of the room with eggs cooked to your liking and great coffee.

Not everyone gets soy mocca right, but Cubo Hotel did!

Egg royal! One level up from eggs benedicts with both smoked salmon and spinach!

Breakfast

Price

€235 for one night for four people including breakfast.
